It is you
Being directed to download the Access Manager even though you have already downloaded it once (or more) usually occurs due to a mis-step in procedure. There are occasions where this redirect happens despite having no procedural errors, but these are very, very rare and calling technical support is your only recourse.
The reason:
Access Manager is the guard shack to the Virtual Builders Exchange website. It monitors and keeps track of who and how many can gain access. Once it verifies your credentials and identifies the computer being used, if it finds everything in order, it gives the user and the computer permission to proceed to your company’s paid subscription services.
After this, Access Manager opens an Internet Explorer session and shuttles you to the Virtual Builders Exchange website’s Home Page. This is the last step in Access Manager’s program and that’s where it stays until the user actually quits the session manually, which resets the program to its initial command line.
Consequently, closing the browser after finishing your work on the website does not affect the Access Manager’s operation status. If you close the browser, Access Manager is still parked on the last command line. Therefore, any attempt to open it will find it having completed its program and not ready to authenticate credentials. This conflict results in the computer’s assumption that Access Manager is not present on the computer, hence, being redirected to the download page.
Solutions
Some people never have this problem. When you shut down your computer, all programs are discontinued. Upon start-up they are set to their “stand-by-to-launch” status. Therefore if you shut down your computer every night before going home, regardless of whether you quit the Access Manager session or not, you’ll never encounter the redirect to the download page.
If you don’t shut down every night, then you must remember to quit the Access Manager session whenever you’re done with your visit. To do so,
Quick Fix
An error in procedure has occurred. Locate the “VBX AM running” icon in your system tray (bottom right of your monitor screen, located near the computer’s time display) and right-click on it. Select the “Quit” option. Launch Access Manager from the desk top.
If the icon is not there, restart your computer. Launch Access Manager from the desk top.
Locate the “VBX AM running” icon in your system tray (bottom right of your monitor screen, located near the computer’s time display) and right-click on it. Select the “Quit” option.

If a subscriber utilizes a proxy server for their internet connection then some problems might occur when logging in with Access Manager. To check if you are behind a proxy or not, use this link, http://www.securitytoolsonline.com/request.php?op=proxy
If a proxy was found then please contact your network administrator. The administrator of your network will be able to supply you with the proxy server, port, and credentials in order to gain access to the proxy server. This information can then be plugged into Access Manager.
